I was reminded today via e-mail, that today is my 2 year anniversary of having the stem cell therapy (I had to complete the 2 year post-therapy suvey). I am happy to report that the knee is doing well.
I completed the Boston Virtual Marathon on 9 October 2021. A friend had asked me if I could walk it; but shortly after we started training she let me know she wanted to run a bit too. So we ultimately ended up doing a run/walk interval (run for a minute and walk for 5 minutes). I never thought I would do another marathon after the Dopey Challenge 8 years ago.
Yes, the knee held up great and somewhere over the past 6 months I stopped wearing the knee brace during my hiking, run/walking, and cycling activities. I think that in and of itself speaks volumes about how well the stem cell therapy has worked for me!
